VP of Leadership & DEI

The Vice President of Leadership Development & Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion serves as the primary organizer and point of contact for the Jr. IFC and Rush Coach programs. He develops and leads a curriculum that educates IFC members on campus organizations, leadership opportunities, and available student resources to promote involvement beyond IFC. This role also advocates for DEI within the council by providing guidance, resources, and support to chapters to improve inclusivity in their programming and communications. Additionally, he collaborates with the Executive Board to ensure all IFC events and materials reflect the council’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Blane Austin is a sophomore (incoming junior) from Fort Lauderdale, Florida and a member of Sigma Nu, majoring in Civil Engineering. After graduating, he plans to begin his career in construction, gaining hands-on experience building homes, with long-term goals of becoming a general contractor and eventually running his own home-building company. He is also involved in Sigma Nu as Involvement Chairman and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, engaging in leadership and professional development within the engineering field. His previous experience includes serving as a soccer team captain and working as Involvement Chairman for Sigma Nu, where he connects members with campus clubs, organizations, and leadership opportunities to increase engagement and representation across the university. His goals include developing strong, accountable leaders across all chapters through workshops, mentorship, and leadership opportunities, while also increasing campus involvement and fostering a more unified and collaborative Greek community.
